Our Journey

Welcome to our little oasis. Owning and running a vacation spot, particularly cottages and campground, has been our aspiration and goal for many years.

We both enjoy traveling, exploring new places, the outdoors, and of course camping and cottaging. We are animal lovers and try to include our canine babies in our activities. Most of all, we truly take pleasure in meeting new people, some of whom become lifelong friends. 

​

In September of 2021, we finally accomplished our goal. After a combined 43 years of proudly serving the City of Toronto, Ontario, and 10 years in the hospitality business, we said goodbye to our family and friends and took the big step of moving to beautiful Nova Scotia. We began our new chapter by purchasing what used to be Birch Villa Cottages. We are now the proud owners of Smiths Cove Cottages located in Smiths Cove, Digby County.

Our journey began by cleaning up the grounds to accentuate the beauty of the property and views its surrounded by. We've also started on some needed updates to the cottages and we will continue with these improvements over the coming months. 

​

In addition to the cottages, we plan on expanding the property to accommodate RV and tent sites. A recreational building is in the works, complete with a laundromat, showers, and gathering space for families and friends, alongside a leash-free park for your pets.

Our goal is to create a beautiful and stress free retreat for our guests and their canine friends.

We are looking forward to this coming season and invite you to be a part of our new adventure.
